Am i missing what is going on here or am i just plain in denial?

i went out for a drink with an old friend last week who id not seen for a while,seeing him again after all this time. i thought would have felt wierd but it didnt at all. he is georgeous and im not afraid to admit that, but when we was having our drinks he started stroking my hair. it felt nice n we by the end of the night ended up kissing, i was on cloud nine still am but why was he stoking my hair most of the night, he isnt a jerk or out for because he would have tried that nite.. my mate who was out with her boyf said he loves you u can tell by the way he is around you. so what do i do about it,,,,
