I'm really worried about my friend?
Your friend is depressed and probably has been depressed for a long time. Many people gain weight because they are depressed.The heavier he gets the more depressed he will get. He needs to quit agonizing about his weight.First thing, he needs to find something that interests him immensely.Get his mind off of his weight, this will raise his spirits and give him an incentive to life.When he has done that,He can start thinking about loosing weight.I would suggest that he start by walking every day.This will help his depression.Then go on a search to find better food than what he has been eating.Read some books on eating well and food portions.He has to do this by his self. Loosing weight should not be his priority, being happy and accomplishing something in life is what is important.The weight will come off if he does not dwell on it.
