Can we use uranium instead of fuel to run our spaceships?

Uranium have a very long half life.In fact,it takes 4.5 billiion years for the uranium to half its size. Uranium is use to mrun a submarine.It is use to generates turbines.Can we use it to space travel so that we can travel further without losing our fuels?
