Does Mahatma Gandhi deserve respect or ridicule?

Most definitely respect. But the funny thing is Mahatma Gandhi himself would be least bothered if someone ridiculed him ! The great man had such strong convictions that surface insults would not affect him at all. The best way to respect him is to abide by his beliefs of truth and non-violence.
