How does tick repellant work?

A tick can still land and crawl on her, but they wont bite/attach. Don't get other brands. They're not as effective. And be careful of cheaper Frontlines available online/overseas - they lack a key ingredient (I forget what it is) and they don't work. Said another way, you get what you pay for.
